Manage vehicle and plant movements safely
Construction sites and workplaces can include moving plant, delivery vehicles, workers and members of the public. Clear traffic routes, safe reversing procedures, good communication, exclusion zones and visible pedestrian walkways help reduce risks.
A banksman or marshal must understand the particular vehicle or plant movements they are controlling, where blind spots occur and how to communicate safely with the operator. The appropriate training depends on whether the person is guiding construction plant or workplace vehicles.
